We as a session have taken the difficult decision to cancel public worship tomorrow, ie Lord’s Day 15th March 2020.
This has not been an easy decision to reach because the public worship of God is so important.
However, having considered a number of factors, we have chosen to take this extraordinary step for the following reasons:
- The advice currently being given by the government in relation to Covid-19 concerning public gatherings cannot be dismissed lightly.
- Even though Rev. Dr. Andrew Quigley has no known symptoms of Covid-19, nor has he been knowingly in contact with anyone who has Covid-19, following input from the office bearers and someone with medical expertise within the congregation, Andrew has taken the decision to self-isolate for a period of time as he has just flown back to Canada from the U.K.
At the normal worship times tomorrow, we as a session would encourage you to take time together as a family to read the Bible, pray and if you can, sing praise together. You may also want to listen to a previous sermon.
During next week, we will review the situation and let you know what we’re going to do next Lord’s Day. In the meantime, if there are any pastoral or material needs please contact the session or the deacons.
Take care and please take the words of the Psalmist to heart: “You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.” Psalm 91:5-6
Yours in Christ,
Andrew Cory Dan
